Our Day At The ZOO!

This past Friday, we decided -on a wim- to take the boys to the zoo. We were already in D.C. for an appointment so we figured, hey! Why not? Ben was beyond excited! He hadn't seen any animals yet and he was already jumping (or running) for joy!
Our first stop was the elephant. He knows his animal noises and tried talking elephant... it might've worked. At one point the elephant seemed to follow us around the gate!
Next up were all kinds of monkeys, a new word that Ben can say! Ben must have a way with animals because this ape came across the room to say hi to Ben -face to face!

Next up was the reptile/amphibean exhibit. Nicky had fun looking at the turtles swimming around. But Ben, much to his Great Aunt Genie's shagrin, loves all things reptile! Especially the snakes! "Nake" is one of his favorite words to say. Don't worry A.G., I did not post any pics of the snakes.

The turtles seemed to get larger as we went along... from average to obese!

Ben took a ride on a bear.
Then we saw all the kitty cats... :)

...and a prairie dog.

Ben getting a free ride from Daddy while looking at the tiger!
Benny loves dinosaurs!

...and so does Nicky!

But Nicky sure didn't like taking a ride on this bear... (Daddy came to the rescue.)
Now for a bunch of really cute pictures of my little Nicholas sitting on Daddy's shoulders. I can't choose which ones are the cutest so you get to see them all!

...and some more!

A friendly duck came to say hello!

Mommy and Nicky posed on a frog.

The eyes were fascinating!

Tour Guide Benny told us where to go next time as we said goodbye to the zoo! What a fun day we had!
