Little Hooligan

Ben has been giving me quite an interesting day today. I got a picture of him and I think, just by looking at the picture, you can tell just how spunky he's acting. Can't wait for Daddy to come home today!

My Flower

I am growing a flower on my window sill right now and I'm enjoying it more than I thought I would! There's something about planting a little seed in some soil and watching it come to life! I think it's beautiful already but it's supposed to end up as some kind of purple flower (according to the picture on the label.) I'll update as it grows!

Our Day At The ZOO!

This past Friday, we decided -on a wim- to take the boys to the zoo. We were already in D.C. for an appointment so we figured, hey! Why not? Ben was beyond excited! He hadn't seen any animals yet and he was already jumping (or running) for joy!
Our first stop was the elephant. He knows his animal noises and tried talking elephant... it might've worked. At one point the elephant seemed to follow us around the gate!
Next up were all kinds of monkeys, a new word that Ben can say! Ben must have a way with animals because this ape came across the room to say hi to Ben -face to face!

Next up was the reptile/amphibean exhibit. Nicky had fun looking at the turtles swimming around. But Ben, much to his Great Aunt Genie's shagrin, loves all things reptile! Especially the snakes! "Nake" is one of his favorite words to say. Don't worry A.G., I did not post any pics of the snakes.

The turtles seemed to get larger as we went along... from average to obese!

Ben took a ride on a bear.
Then we saw all the kitty cats... :)

...and a prairie dog.

Ben getting a free ride from Daddy while looking at the tiger!
Benny loves dinosaurs!

...and so does Nicky!

But Nicky sure didn't like taking a ride on this bear... (Daddy came to the rescue.)
Now for a bunch of really cute pictures of my little Nicholas sitting on Daddy's shoulders. I can't choose which ones are the cutest so you get to see them all!

...and some more!

A friendly duck came to say hello!

Mommy and Nicky posed on a frog.

The eyes were fascinating!

Tour Guide Benny told us where to go next time as we said goodbye to the zoo! What a fun day we had!

Ben & Nicky's Blessing
We finally got Ben and Nicky blessed in August. It was a great experience. We were so glad so many friends and family came to be a part of such a special moment in our lives.

Halloween
We borrowed a cute little skunk costume
from a friend of mine (Thanks Erica!) for my little stinker.
Great Gramma & Aunt Genie got Ben this cute little lion costume. The costume suits this WILD little 2 year old!

Ben's 2nd Birthday
Ben was totally into Elmo around his 2nd bday so we went all out with his Elmo party!
Take a big breath...
...and BLOW!
I hand decorated all 72 Elmo cupcakes!

Thanksgiving
We had my Dad and StepMom, Robin, my brother Joshie and a good friend of mine, Gina over for my very first -cooked it all by myself- (with help from Sam) Thanksgiving dinner. I loved setting the table and creating a very fancy ambiance, and the food wasn't too bad either!

Christmas
Nicky's 1st Christmas and our first one just simply being at home. The boys looked so cute in their matching Christmas jammies.
